  1. The Vertex bearing support mount is available from Amazon for less than $400.00 .I recently installed the support and could not be happier , It is by far easer than replacing the whole drive shaft and appears to be better engineered. If you are not going to install it yourself ,I would have a mechanic to do it ,since I believe it is a better fix,
  2. I have both air boxes and air ducts for 2004 S I will give you free. I am in Kingston Wa.
  3. How come Porsche America can afford a $100 million new facility in Atlanta but not pay out what they owe use for replacing our coolant tubes. Has anyone received any money yet?
  4. This subject comes up every month with no practical solution, the expense and time to fix it is to great compared with the results . Unless you live in the Arctic, most of us with the problem just live with it. We have (3) 04 Cayennes in the family and all 3 have this intermittent problem.
  5. 1.Go to Pelicanparts.com 2.Then to TECH INFO (in the header) 3.Then to ENGINE 4.See REPAIR THE AIR-OIL SEPERATOR
  6. With the volt meter reading only 10 volts and the engine was running you might have an alternator problem.
  7. Go to Pelican Parts website and look under ( Cayenne) tech info, they have instructions with great pictures on how to repair your mirror. and many other repair items.
  8. I just did this job on my Cayenne . I would not do it for $360 for some one else, not a bad price.
  9. Had the same problem and FIX as carsen67. Some time you fix the problem by mistake with a complicated process , KISS.
  10. Got the 1217 error code on one of my 04s. Took the seat out and found the connector had been by passed, took the shrink fit off the fix and found a crimp joint repair. Cut it out and soldered the wires. No more error code. NO CRIMPS - SOLDER IT
  11. I can not remove the side light bulb from my headlight assembly. The owners manual states to just pull the holder out. I have pulled with all my might with long nose pliers and it will not come out. I am afraid of breaking this $1200 assembly . What is the trick ?
  12. Next to the port where you use the tool is a rubber cover . Remove this cover , this enables you to grasp and pull the light assembly forward.
  13. I have two 2004 s, The totally stock black one gets 17.2mpg. The white one with modified exhaust and K&N air cleaners get 16.6mpg. Most of the driving on both is rural, on long trips (hi speed the faster the better 80+) both get over 18 mpg
  14. It seems that the problem is the gateway , I replaced the battery, the gateway has a relearning process it goes through after a battery change. Out of the blue the blower now works just fine. This car is a mystery to a 75 year old mind.
  15. Applied 12V to the blower and it work just fine. Measured the voltage at the connector to the blower and get 14.4 volts with the fan speed up all the way and 13.4 with the speed switch all the way off. Reconnected connector to the blower , NOTHING . I have trouble with German logic. Somebody please help !
  16. I believe it my be the a/c control unit. Since I have two 2004 s I was thinking I could switch the control units but do no know how to remove them .I removed the bezel , but have no clue HELP!
  17. 2004 S Have checked fuse 23 and every other one that looked like it could effect the blower
  18. Blower for ac/heater stopped working . Durametric shows fault 1299 ( gateway problem) I have no idea what this means or how to fix it. Fuse is ok.
  19. This settlement is a joke, read the fine print of the settlement and you will find that after you take the mileage and age into consideration , and if you can find your receipts not much there. The lawyers are the only ones that made out.
  20. COWL DRAINS I know about the other drains and have checked them, but don't know about the cowl drains . Where are they ? Seem as we cayenne owner need a map of all the drains.
