what to do if option sticker is missing in trunk

Recommended Posts

Just picked up my 2006 911 S cab. As I am getting ready to order bumper plugs (previous owner put on front license plate, I prefer to leave it off so want to cover the holes) I want to make sure the car is really arctic silver as claimed by the dealer. Much to my surprise, the option sticker is not on the inside of the trunk lid ... is there any other place the paint code can be found on the car? What about the other options? Is there any place to find info on them on the car? If not, any other tips on how to get them? A, yes, don't have the original maintenance book ... story in and of itself ...

Thanks,

Jay

Jay, the dealer is probably right. Artic Silver is a very-very common Porsche color in 2006.

Get your bumper plugs from Eric at www.bumperplugs.com. Great quality. I would bet if the color is wrong, Eric will take them back, and make it right for you.

Jay, in my MY2000 996 the paint data is stamped here:

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked but could not find anything there ... however, it made me look in other places and I found the paint color listed at the bottom of the tire pressure sticker on the inside of the driver's door jam! It turns out to be Arctic Silver as I was told... so that's good. Still curious if anybody has a pointer to the other options...

Cheers,

Jay

Jay, so they moved the paint data sticker ;) glad you still found it.

Well, I can give you another tip: you can download a PDF version of the owner's manual here:

http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?a...mp;showfile=775

It's so much easier than looking at the paper version because you can do 'search' to find what you need.

Many congrats on your new car, there's nothing like a Porsche™ yes.gif

Not sure if this applies to all years, but there is an exact duplicate of my options sticker in the owner's manual or the service book... forget which, but it's there. Exactly the same sticker as the one under the hood.

You are correct - usually stapled in the service book.
