  1. Your car is a MY2001 - I would hope the transmission oil has been changed at least once in 7 years. ;) Yes, remove item 11 (while the car is level) and see if any seeps out.
  2. Chances are the transmission will need to come out for this repair. Are you sure the transmission is not overfilled? Item 17 - 996.303.517.01 shaft seal 15 x 21 x 7 -- US MSRP $5.18

  5. Since you just bought the car I would recommend that you take it to a good Porsche shop or dealer that has a PST2 or PIWIS tester and have them go through the car. It is odd to have misfire on all 3 cylinders of one bank. I would ask for a recent service history too - always a chance that a spark plug replacement went wrong.
  6. Thanks Loren that would be good. Do you think it would be possible to install some AWE cats and AWE headers at a WOCD? Martin Using the hoist would make this a lot easier. Two things to make sure of... 1. That your O2 sensors will fit the cats (or you will get a CEL) 2. Buy new bolts, nuts and gaskets (both top and bottom) for the headers. Even on an almost new car they can break.

  8. The MSRP for that switch is $111.67. In the future you might want to try Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) - they sell at cost plus 15%.
  9. P0300 Misfire Detection (Sum Total) P0304 Misfiring, Cylinder 4 P0305 Misfiring, Cylinder 5 P0306 Misfiring, Cylinder 6 Did you get a CEL? If not these corrected themselves. If you did get a CEL then the most obvious causes are spark plug coils or spark plugs. Since it is only on one side it could be the camshaft control for that bank.

  15. MY02 is very different than MY99 to MY01. Either way those two fan relays have nothing to do with your lights unless there is a short somewhere. There are no circuit breakers - there are fuses. And, if a fuse was blown they would not come on for a few seconds. If the fuses are good and you have a bunch of electrical anomalies then I suspect the ignition switch.
  16. Fans -- All 4 relays should be there - make sure you are checking the positions carefully. Xenons -- If both Xenons are not working then the problem is likely the headlight switch. They are on separate circuits.
  17. If it works fine with the dash switch then it has to be the key(s).
  18. Since the car is likely under warranty let the dealer/OPC fix it.
