  1. The car cranks but does not start? If so, I would suspect the CPS (Crankshaft Position Sensor) -- it's been covered here before.
  2. Try 1030 Thanks for the reply. Tried that code and it just reset to the 4 asterisks again, so I assume that isn't the right one? Thanks for the help Did you follow the instructions in the Lost Radio code FAQ to get your serial number? Yup, held TP and rotated the knob right and wrote down all the number as above. Then there has likely been an aftermarket repair of that radio. Becker may be able to help or offer an exchange radio.
  3. @grown and @Jamesx19: Please focus your questions and comments on the issue rather than the posters (per this site's Guideline/Rules). @grown: The Cayman, Boxster, and 996 all use the same basic M96 engine. @Jamesx19: There are diagnostic procedures can help identify the source of your problem. Those will likely include a compression test and borescope examination. If those prove negative then you are likely looking at a transmission removal to inspect the IMS bearing.

  8. Lost Radio Code - FAQ -- Read This FIRST
  9. Try 2108
  10. Try 6870
  11. Try 8680
  12. Try 0878
  13. Some of those errors are likely from a battery change or disconnect. I suggest you clear them all and see what comes back.
  14. Try 5098
  15. Try 8940
  16. I think you need to hook up to 12 volts and ground.
  17. You can disconnect the MAF and let the car idle. If with the MAF disconnected it idles poorly then the problem is elsewhere - most common are intake or exhaust leaks.
  18. If you would have read the Lost Radio Code - FAQ -- Read This FIRST then you would have read... "Can you give me a code for my PCM? These units are manufactured jointly by Siemens and Becker, and the only place where you can get the codes required is from the dealer/OPC. The PCM’s require two codes, the ICS/Siemens code and a Becker code. The ICS is the first code requested. Sorry, the only place you can get a PCM code is from a dealer/OPC."
  19. Try 9819
  20. Is this a Porsche Traffic Pro? If not, I can not help you. Sorry. Yes it's in a 996 C4S. Porsche branded unit. For Traffic Pro with 6 presets try 42325
  21. Is this a Porsche Traffic Pro? If not, I can not help you. Sorry.
  22. Try 8274
  23. Sorry, I can not do anything about the missing images - the original poster had linked to offsite images that are no longer available.
  24. :welcome: It would be helpful if you told us the exact model and year of the car. Also, when was the transmission fluid changed last? and, did they use Porsche recommended transmission oil? Any short shifters installed or undercarriage damage?
