  1. DId you upgrade the fuses? Fuses A9 and A10 need to be 15 amp fuses not 7.5 amp. https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/box_litronic/litronic_pg6a.htm
  2. Unless you used a vacuum fill to refill the water/anti-freeze after after your waterpump replacement. You may have had some air in the lines. Top it off and monitor water level. Maybe flip your bleeder valve up till all air has escaped.
  3. I recently chased down a noise on my '98 986. With the belt off the noise went away. Every thing like rollers, water pump, alternator all spinned freely. With the belt back on and a $10 stethoscope from "Harbor Freight" , I deduced that the noise was coming from the alternator's front bearing. I took it to a local auto electrical shop and had it rebuilt for $125. Problem solved.
  4. I'm pretty sure you meant the soft top or the canvas top. A tonneau cover looks like the photo below. The top transmissions can be adjusted with a cordless drill (set to a low torque setting). Here is a link by 1sChoir explaining the procedure in greater detail. These usually need to be readjusted after replacing a bad transmission or a replacement of a broken (or stretched) transmission cable. PRESS HERE for Adjusting Soft Top Transmission
  5. Some obvious places to look for are the water pump/thermostat area, front radiators, as well as the coolant tank area located in the rear trunk region.
  6. Yes, all kits from Euro Motorspeed comes with both options.
  7. I have used both a 6 channel amp as well as the 4 channel. A four channel works just fine. The rear speakers plug into the back of the radio. You can find a great after market rear speaker kit at Euro Motorspeed on eBay or the web.   8. You need to remove the cluster and remove the bulb to test and confirm. Bulbs on the bottom row are 12v/1.2W (3-way bulb in black plastic holder). All of the bulbs in the bottom row can be removed with a screwdriver or (easier), a 6mm hex socket.

  10. Remove the cluster and check bulb and replace if needed. You'll need to replace your clockspring which can be very spendy new. You may want to find a used one that is guaranteed to be in good working order. Used $50-$75, New $244-$310 depending on where it is purchased.   11. You'll get a flashing light by the temperature gauge should the water level significantly drop and need attention.
  12. Check to see if the key fob battery is good. If ok, try turning the key in the door while simultaneously pressing the unlock door button. If that doesn't work check for water (wet carpet) behind driver's seat.
  13. Turn the ignition on one click and check to see if your airbag light is illuminated. If no light, replace it. If you have removed your steering wheel recently you may have to reset your codes and see if it comes back. An airbag error 21 ignition driver usually indicates a bad 'clock spring'.
  14. I thought of doing that myself as well, but the safety of my grand children got the best of me. Purchase a used one from a Porsche Re-distributor. Just my 2 cents!
  15. Don't rule out the dipstick tube itself. I've seen them cracked before.
  16. Don't forget to clear all the old codes and start from scratch!
  17. You can switch coil pack #1 with coil pack #4 from bank 2. Clear the codes and see what comes back. You'll need the Durametric to clear the codes. I would drain the oil and remove sump pump cover and see what is at the bottom of the sump as well as dissecting the filter. Also testing the oil could also help determine exactly what's going on. If you use the Durametric to check the cam angles, make sure to have the car up to temperature for a least twenty minutes or more to ensure you get the correct readings.
  18. I'm of the opinion to not replace a coil pack until they fail. When they fail they will throw a code telling you which one to replace.
  19. jpc763, Can you post a Durametric screenshot of your alarm codes after your repair. Alarm Codes 46, 47, and 61 were red prior to repair in post #23 above. Nice work!
