  1. Yeah, John...the dish soap is to remove old waxes before you clay....for later washing use something like Meguiars Gold...or Zaino Z-7 cheers
  2. KevinMac, I was just trying to ensure the proper information was being given...in your original post you suggested . I am simply pointing out . Not trying to attack you, just getting the correct information out there.
  3. Here is what I recommend: 1. Wash car with dish soap (I use dawn) 2. Clay bar with lots of lubricant (soap or QD spray) 3. Poorboys SSR2.5 Poorboys with Porter cable (set speed to 1.5 to spread, then 5.5 to remove swirls...always in an up/down/side-to-side motion) 4. Apply whatever wax/polymer you want....I would stongly recommend Zaino AIO, then Zaino Z-5 Pro....but don't want to get into a detailing argument
  4. Actually you just said they were tested...read your own quote.
  5. You got me on this one...my car does not talk to me? What option is that?
  6. This is not quite correct....I refer you to this thread: tirerack and N rated tires I have used the Bridgestone S02s (OEM), PS2s, MPSC...but my favorite so far is the Yokos...Neovas for 18 and Advan Sports for bigger.
  7. Check this link: 6speed
  8. It is a security torx wrench (T-20)...most hardware stores have them. here is a nice link MAF
  9. An '04 has the radio codes stored in the DME. The only time you need to worry about it is if you change out the head unit.
  10. Give Arling a call at Lucent Motors.
  11. check out these links: link 1 link 2
  12. Just the driver side? Well it seems the micro switch is working (at least partially), perhaps just re-train the windows: 6452 Power windows Problem Remedy Manually close each power window as far as it will go, then press the rocker switch for closing the window again. The limit position of the respective power window is now stored in the control module again. If not the micro switch may be bad.
  13. not sure what you mean by entire cab assembly...just start to close the cab roof and stop it before it latches. Then remove the cables on both sides (they just pop off) then you can lift the back part up and out of the way. Remove the liner and you are set to go. You can find pictures here: Smart Top instructions
  14. I have not noticed any difference in ride on my 19s...Of course my 18s are MPSCs. I prefer the 19s for street.
  15. I had this problem on my 04 when it was new...porsche eventually replaced the entire unit. Can't help on a replacement...I just added the Dension iPod unit and it works great. As far as codes...get a good code reader (durametric)...it will save you time and money.
  16. sounds typical. have you tried just using pressure vs. slamming it?
  17. Only thing I have seen is complete blade replacements...TechArt, Strosek, Gemballa
  18. A general comment...seeing a readout on the boost gage for a split second means nothing IMO. The way to tell what you are boosting is to go WOT in 3rd (or if you are lucky enough to have a spot to speed...4th). Look for max SUSTAINED boost. the other spikes are just that...spikes. Oh I'll take those struts also....
  19. It looks similar to my laser jammer...can you see the wiring?
  20. You want the hydraulic cylinder or the pump? Here is the pump:
  21. No need to worry about radio codes then, or resetting the windows... but to be honest I'm not sure that disconnecting the battery resets the ECU. The ECU will learn on the fly.
  22. Some not in the glossary: EVO (same as EVOMs): Evolution Motor Sports CAI: Cold Air Intake SSK: Short Shift Kit Cheers
