  1. I believe that Huco is (now) a subsidiary of Hitachi Automotive Systems. I don't need new coils at the moment, but it may be worthwhile looking into if Beru are not up to it.
  2. This may be of some help. http://www.autohausaz.com/porsche-auto-parts/porsche-electrical-systems.html
  3. I'd check the voltage regulator/diodes first, then the alternator itself.
  4. http://www.motorsportoel.de/epages/64065133.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/64065133/Products/PR0021 Just ensure that it's compatible with what you have in your cooling system !
  5. For something as critical as the water pump, cheap is invariably a false economy ... and cheap water pumps have a habit of causing some very expensive engine repairs.
  6. How much of the plastic from the water pump impeller vanes did you recover from draining / flushing, and were the two coolants compatible? If the new pump is rotating as it should, then it would appear that you have a blockage. A total system flushing (or several) may clear it, if that's what it is.
  7. On the assumption that the temperature reading that you're getting is correct, it would appear that coolant is not circulating at all. Have you visually checked to ensure that the polyrib belt is correctly fitted and that the pump is actually rotating? Was there any damage to the vanes of the old pump? If you didn't flush the entire system, did you do a like-for-like coolant exchange or were different coolants mixed? Other than opening the burp valve and leaving it open to see if that in any way clears out any airlock, I can't think what else to suggest. I'm sure that you are carefully monitoring the temperature with the engine idling ... and that you are not tempted to actually drive the car anymore before the problem is resolved.
  8. Otherwise, open the burp valve if you haven't already done so.
  9. I'd be inclined to also check for water in the Shell Premium.
  10. Apart from the radiators, are your fans working at that temperature?
  11. Access to the waterpump is gained from underneath the car and through the engine cover plate which is located behind the carpet behind the seats. From memory, you don't need the top in the service position for that purpose.
  12. I'd check and, if necessary, replace the coil packs as the first step.
  13. You might check the ballast resistors, which I believe are mounted on the front fan shroud. If you do a forum search for "ballast resistor", I'm sure you'll find that the problem is fairly common, particularly for cars operating in high temperatures.
  14. On the assumption that the fluid put in is as specified for the Tiptronic, I'd suggest as the first step that you ensure that the amount of ATF in the transmission is correct. With the ATF at between 35C and 40C, the fluid level should be just below the fill line i.e. to the brim.
  15. Hi Daniel. I hope it's fixed .... and I'm sure your wife does too (-:
  16. I would suggest that the next thing to check should be the cables running from your battery - to the starter motor/solenoid and ground.
  17. If you do a Renntech search under the heading 'My car is leaking', you'll find some relevant advice. I'd put the link but I'm not sure how to !
  18. In an emergency, use distilled water to top up. Then balance up using a mix of Porsche (or Porsche compatible) coolant and distilled water. Under normal circumstances, that would be an equal mix. You must use a coolant that is compatible with that already in your system. Check under the carpet where the coolant reservoir is located to ensure that it's dry and that the reservoir cap is firmly screwed down.
  19. Thanks JFP in PA. I'll be doing the necessary, and that is good to know for the future.
  20. Thanks for that. My car is a 2.7 MY 2003 - 5 speed Tiptronic S. Would that be a ZF gearbox ? My ATF is clearly in need of change after 14 years.
  21. Yes, it's odd that the problems occur when the fluid is hot. However, I'd still go ahead with a fluid/filter change before considering the much more expensive options. I'm about to do this myself. Our car (MY 2003) spent ten years in Bahrain before being shipped here. I suspect that the temperatures out there shortens the life of ATF .... and coolant. As you appear to be intent on doing it yourself also, I'm sure you have read up on the procedure. From what I've read, if you're not planning on using Porsche ATF, Pentosin ATF-1 is the only other recommended fluid for a Tiptronic.
  22. I would suggest that you have a leak somewhere. Have you checked the fluid level after pumping the brakes?
  23. Globus Baumarkt had them when I was last looking for something else. Alternatively, Bauhaus.
  24. Hello. Has the ATF / filter ever been changed? If not, that would be what I would focus on first - the condition of the fluid and the level.
