Help with AC relocation to upper lower slot

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I would like to install a double dinn stereo into my 2001 Boxster, but before I start with that, i'll need to relocate the AC controls to the lower console.

I have seen other do this and relocate it to the lowest section (usually taken up by the storage caddy), but i would like to move it to the slot above that where the 4xCD dispenser is.

Has this been done and are there instructions of how to go about doing it.

You can place the heater controls in either location. There are two different trim pieces, one for the lowest location with rounded corners and the one above that with square corners.  When I have done this, it was much easier to remove the center console in front of the shifter and then replace.  This makes relocating the electrical connections and wiring "doable".  Search GT3 center console delete on the internet.
