  1. No issues with 19's for me either. I like the look and the handling.
  2. I don't believe so, but there are aftermarket systems with the dual snorkel...check out my pics
  3. What exactly is happening? Does the FOB not unlock the car? Does the car start with the key? The remote will automatically disable if left for a week. To restart it, you open the door manually and then hit the key fob button. Other things you can try is to reset the FOB, this is done by putting the battery in reverse polarity for 10 seconds and then installing it correctly. If this does not work, you may need to have the key re-linked to the car. This is done with PST2 or PIWIS.
  4. I don't know the product, but would recommend the Europipes...great history with the Porsche Turbo and speaking from experience, great product.
  5. I have the LWFW to go with the GT3RS clutch. I have adapted to it. It will give you quick starts, but there is chatter when the car is idling...unless the clutch pedal is engaged. Nothing a nice exhaust and sound system won't fix though.
  6. I have mine hooked up to the battery. I bought an Interstate maintainer and it has cables that hook directly to the battery and then a plug-in for the charger. Your lighter socket may just need the prongs bent in.
  7. I don't know of one for all Porsche, but JP started one for the turbo and some issues are universal.
  8. Check with Sunset...link at the top of the page. That is where I got mine.
  9. We can make guesses, but better to get the codes read. Could be anything from plugs to coilpacks to fuel system related...
  10. BG44k is a fuel injector/fuel system cleaner. It is introduced into the fuel system (where you put gas)....it is not an air cleaner TMK. It is a good product and works quite well.
  11. Smells are hard to diagnose. You could have a small leak that hits the hot engine and burns though it is not enough to actually create a puddle on the floor. Try the non-turbo section (as this is the turbo section).
  12. the easiest way to test your clutch for slip is to go to a higher gear, 4th or 5th and accelerate from low RPM. When the turbos come in, if the revs shoot up out of proportion to the speed increase, your clutch is either glazed severely or worn beyond specs.
  13. Please tell us if you have any modifications (like a LWFW)...
  14. When I had my 19s mounted the tech said in order to get the same pressure as with the 18s I would need to go higher in pressure...I don't know why, but I have found lower to be better. I run about 34/42. On the track, your cold tire pressure may be significantly less. As mentioned above watch tire wear and if you can tire temperature profiles. Most folks run about 4-6 lbs. less.
  15. Nice list jp...I am not sure what common means (statistically speaking that is), but none the less a great resource list for many TT owners. Here are some others to consider for your list: fuel filler problems (fuse or sensor) amp - fuses Key FOB issues (retraining, etc) Battery draining I didn't add any links, let me know if you want some. Thanks!
  16. No problem...glad you got it resolved...just because they are Porsche mechanics doesn't prevent them from making simple mistakes...LOL you just pay more for them.
  17. It is possible the ECU was relearning as you probably had the battery disconnected....I would check codes JIC, but if it runs great don'e worry about it.
  18. P0234Boost Pressure Characteristic, Upper Value Exceeded - Above Limit Possible fault cause ♦ Leakage at pressure hoses from frequency valve to the bypass flaps ♦ Frequency valve faulty ♦ Vacuum modulators for bypass flaps leaking ♦ Bypass flaps incorrectly adjusted Silicon hoses are put on as a precaution due to more boost...they will not create overboost in any way.
  19. Boost issues in general could be: 1. Leaks (including DVs and WGs) 2. Plugs/coil packs If you are getting ABS/PSM lights...first get the actual codes...those could signal several things...one of which is blown MAF. If you are seeing 1.1 sustained, your ECU is flashed. I don't know what "upgraded boost pipes" are. Do you mean headers? Why are they touching the DVs for plug change?
  20. Welcome aboard...the boost problem could be several things...first I would check for leaks, then plugs/coil packs. Is your ECU flash loaded with a flash loader? Can you revert back to stock?
  21. What book are you reading? Become a member and download the oil TSB...the only recommended oils are 0W40, 5W40 and 5W50.
