Porsche Lambo doors style

Recommended Posts

Any feedback?

I wouldn't do it...I'd rather spend the money on other things..like beers and stuff...lol..just kidding...but yeah, a friend of mine had his changed and it doesn't look right on porsches...just spend the money on other upgrades...but then again, it's a matter of taste...if you like it, then who cares what other people say...

What would be the point of doing that? Not even Lambo's have doors like that anymore. It looks tacky and does not fit on a Porsche (in my opinion.)

Like the others said spend that money on handling, performance or interior mods.

But again it's your car. Just expect to get flamed from the P car community.

Have you eve opened and closed a Lambo style door kit? It gets REAL old, REAL fast. They are a PITA to live with, based on the two people I know that put them on (not 996s, tho), and never seem to close right. That said, I still think they look cool, but if I just had money to burn for bling, I MIGHT do it if I had a cab..never a coupe.

Nice dogpile everybody has going here...

Your question was "are they reliable?" I don't think anybody knows, but I would bet they are not. You are asking the body shell to take stresses it wasn't designed for. Older 911s were beefy cars, but 996s and later are only strong where they need to be. That's why they're lighter. And it's why I wouldn't deviate from the basic design of the car where its structure is concerned. My .02.
