  1. Clean the throttle bodies and reset the adaption values. I don't think you have a tranny problem. Why would you think the torque convertor seal was causing this issue?
  2. Thats is a failing cylinder, no fix but to replace the engine. I have seen this before and the customer decided to keep driving.... two years later the noise hasn't gotten any worse.
  3. Injector fault-swap it for another cylinder or test for power with a noid light.
  4. Failing cylinder on this engine sounds very similar to hydraulic lifter noise and I have not seen any problems with the lifters on these engines. Are you sure the engine oil you've chosen meets the required specs? Castrol isn't what it used to be.
  5. How did the unit get broken in the first place? Shop for a used petrol tank or maybe plastic weld the part which will only be a temporary fix at best.
  6. The carpets can hold an amazing amount of water. I've used a wet/dry shop vacuum and lifted the carpet to get air circulating bottom to top and it still took days to dry out.
  7. Be careful when testing using temp as you can be mislead and fail a working convertor. As a general rule of thumb, the outlet temp should be 50C higher then the inlet but there are many other factors to consider.
  8. You should inspect the charging system. Might be a voltage regulator fault.
  9. Secondary Air Injection faults shouldn't cause a engine stall unless you have a massive vacuum leak then should have other codes also.
  10. Chances are it's a damaged cylinder. As others have said, leave this one alone. It's a buyers market and you're spoilt for choice.
  11. Does the fault clear if you drive the vehicle? I have seen this warning caused by a low voltage condition, did the battery run down whilst the equipment was being installed?
  12. I have heard of that company before but don't know of anyone who has had dealings with them. They claim to have the Sonnax updates but no mention of the warranty period or any customer reviews.
  13. This has been covered on the site before. You can get a exchange shaft through VW using the 7L part number on the shaft for reference.
  14. It's difficult to tell without fault codes and there is really nothing you can check without a scan tool to read data. I doubt it would leave you stranded, at most the system should default into a limp home mode. With that being said, don't ignore the issue and have the system diagnosed.
  15. Regardless if your battery is 2 years old or 2 months you should have it tested to remove doubt. How long have you had the tune installed?
  16. Even though the glow plug indicator is out the glow plugs are still active and depending on temps could be on for a after glow period of 120 seconds after engine start so it doesn't make sense that what you are experiencing is correct. As it's covered under warranty why not consult the OPC?
  17. You just need to disconnect the ground cable located near the right drivers seat mount.
  18. In regards to the burning smell, inspect the air quality sensor for the climate control located near the brake master cylinder on left hand drive vehicles. It has a small heating circuit in it and can overheat and melt creating an awful smell.
  19. The small 5 watt bulb is known as a city light. In some European cities it's against the law to drive with the headlights on and only with the city/marker lights. When I install a universal DTRL kit I use the city lights and triggered power from the windshield washer nozzle heater circuit.
  20. VW doesn't show pins or wiring for a said connector but sell electrical pins with a wire attached by size. There are sold 5 to a pack and should be a stocked item.
  21. If there really is a problem why not have it towed to a mechanic and diagnosed? Maybe there isn't a problem and coolant level can fluctuate slightly depending on engine temp. Throwing parts at a vehicle and guessing isn't the the solution.
