My 2004 Targa just turned 100K miles this week!  She's still running like a bat out of hell, too!

FWIW, the previous owner replaced the RMS, but the IMS has never been changed.  I plan to have it done whenever I get the clutch replaced, but so far I've been keeping my RPMs up and changing my oil regularly with no issues.

My clutch was last replaced by the previous owner at around 50K miles, so I'll probably be due for a new one before long.  I'm going to ask the shop to hang onto the old IMS bearing for me so I can check it for wear.  I'll share my findings.

103,000 on my 2000 Carrera 4. Had 73,000 when I bought it 10 years ago. Is a daily driver - but since my retirement it only gets out once a week or so. More so in the summer when PNWR - Seattle has more tours. She has been to 3 Parades and will be going the the Palm Springs Parade in June. Hope to see lots of 996'ers there.

02 C4S - 118k though I'm only responsible for ~1000 of those. Just purchased this past May, though I wasn't able to drive it til July due to registration issues. IMS was done last year by previous owner, water pump has been replaced, and I had the front diff rebuilt right after purchase. AOS is next on the list.

164,000 '01 cab with tiptronic. New to me, and I've just started giving it the maintenance and love it needs. 🙂

Would never have bought an automatic, but the price was just too low for me to pass up.

Be sure to post a pic, and good luck with the maintenance!

133,126 was all she had to give, the dreaded intermix got us.  Swapped oil/air separator, oil cooler and no luck, undiagnosed cracked/warped head.  Will determine later but was luck and pulled motor out of a 2001 w/ 75,000 miles, and did all the preventative I could on the front end (same as above) plus coils, plugs and wires and obviously the IMS.  Wish us luck in our next 25,000 to make it back on the board.

I rescued a 2002 C2 Cab from Florida with 102K miles on it and am currently restoring it on my YT channel.  Luckily the engine was "maintained" but the body? Ugh... rust.  At least I'm learning how to weld!

Just picked up my first 911-derivative, a 2003 996.2 with a whopping 199k miles. As far as I know it's the original engine (??), PO serviced manual trans, IMS, new clutch... Hoping I made the right choice with so many miles!
