Hi Loren, new to this thread but can already see how much help you provide other members. I have a 2000 Carrera:

CDR-220

Type 4462

CDP2081

S/N: Y5051698

Called the dealer and was told the code is 8396 based off the VIN but it won't take. The code on my card is 8467 but that also won't take. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Did you use the procedure in the Lost Radio Code FAQ to get your actual serial number?

If so then try 8467 again.

Hi, just tried the 8467 code again and it wouldn't accept it. I tried locating the serial number via FAQ page and the only other numbers that come up when i turn the dial besides 4462 and CDP2081 are "24/99" and "GAL1 00". Is there an alternate code possibly from the one (8396) I received from the dealer? Thanks again...

I know the VIN isn't usually helpful but I just wanted to provide you with it just in case.  VIN: WP0CA2991YS654478.  Thanks again.

How about for my 2001 Boxster

CDR 220

Serial # Y5021303

Type 4362

I retrieved it once from the dealer already last year and wrote it down on a piece of paper, which I mistakenly gave away with the service records to my Vanagon camper when I sold it last summer. Doh! This time the numbers going under the hood with a sharpie
