Wild turkey

Recommended Posts

What happens when a wild turkey meets a boxster?? See pic's.

I was going 75mph in my 2000s on the interstate in western Iowa, when this wild turkey starts running across the road. Evidently my hunting skills are still in good form as I led it perfectly. Probably a good thing I wasn't going 100mph.

It must have flown up a bit as it got in front of the car because there's no bumper damage, just a few minor scratches on the hood near the windshield.

Do you think there are any boxster windshields in or around Omaha? NO! Took 3 days to get one down here.

I like those little feathers at the top of the windshield.

WOW!

Glad you were not injured. Maybe if you were going 100 or more the increased air speed would have lifted the turkey up and over your car without incident??? I remenber in an extremely heavy rain on the interstate in Wyoming, I was driving up to 115 mph without my wipers and the windshield kept clear. But water droplets are lighter than wild turkeys.

wow, you wouldn't get a blood spray like that in a holywood movie :D

but on the serious side, that must be some force for a bird to go through like that !!!!!!

Is the windshield softer then other cars? As Audi RS has softer rims to protect the suspension?

Sorry but thats is just awesome ahhahah. You bullseyed a turkey with your car, thats like shootin a fly with a bazooka. Somebody give this man a trophy or something.

Yes. Nice center mass bird strike! Your hunting skills are keen indeed. :notworthy:

Last Oct. I was doing a little top down, evening canyon carving and nearly bagged a deer! Can you imagine that mess! Thank you Porsche brakes.

Gee, if you wanted to kill a turkey, you should have used a 12 gauge, not a Porsche! :P

Wow, what the "flock" happened to your airplane. Looks like it got really flocked up. Er... sorry for the fowl language.

The windshield survived though. Maybe we just need to make the Boxster windshields out of the same material.

The glass is pretty thick so it isn't that clear. But as you can tell they are tough. We have has some crack lately, i think because we changed our proceedures recently, we turn the windshield heat off when parked at the gate, to keep the cockpit cooler. Then if not given sufficient time to heat up and we go flying...say to 30,000 feet it cracks because of the cold air. Days like this and you begin to wonder why we work for such a small paycheck!
