  1. Any way to check with multimeter to confirm the button is "stuck"?
  2. So you are powering the control unit of the memory seat or just directly into the seat?
  3. 02+ doesn't need a engine drop as the solenoid for variocam+ is right behind the exhaust braket. Swapping sides to see if follows the unit is a good test.
  4. Can't wait. Sounds like a good solution unless you plan to drop engine all the time.
  5. Nice work on the updates. Does make sense now, hope the repair goes smooth!
  6. Use the parts from the Craigslist motor to repair the 2000 C2 original motor. Then drop that into the car. (Granted the craigslist motor is also 99-01) Of course fun starts there with pairing DME/immobilizer, etc
  7. I read on garageforum they were going to made a longer span 4,000lb one.
  8. I believe there is an A update cd and then a B update cd that will allow the DVD to read the newest maps.
  9. Are the immobilizer and DME paired? As i noted before you can perform the sync w/ IPAS codes.
  10. That is suprising, except for someone chosing an auto I've seen a few threads saying that the 997.1 Turbo was the best.
  11. 3M kit is really good. I recommend applying a Xpel clear film after. Otherwise the UV will re-damage the lights.
  12. Do a search on eBay for "M490 porsche" saw one for $37. I would think the wiring harness would be trickest part to find. The ISO plugs for back of the head unit are easy to source.
  13. Pull the cluster and remove the broken shaft from the back. I found a replacement shaft on eBay for a previous 996.
  14. I recieved reasonable quotes and seen good feedback from Alden. I ended up doing the work myself since I love an excuse to buy more tools. http://www.flintworksauto.com 12 pack of beer and drive up to San Ramon for fix of latch?
  15. Depends on one's level of comfort with reviewing the car. I bring scanner tools to check rev and DME. What did the 2.7L person say? That's pretty bad....
  16. How will a tech without a PST2 need to handle the wheel calibration? Just attempt to get the wheel visually as straight as possible?
  17. Hey I am also in the bay area. If you need help send me a PM. I personally think the PPI is a waste of money but better than nothing if you can't test everything yourself. I have some spare coils and also done door latch work on previous 996.
  18. Perhaps grab a seat belt receptical off eBay and swap it in. Clear code and see if it returns?
  19. It is a tooling cost given the market size. However, with us showing there is a possiblity of break-even + profit then should be done already.
  20. Seems Bosch 710N are recommended
