  1. It seems that the collector, where the brushes run on, is completely worn out. Just replace the brushes will not have much effect.
  2. You will need a PIWIS or similar diagnostic tool to reset the code, airbag codes and other safety items, can't reset manually.
  3. If the car is equipped with a Tiptronic gearbox, check the vacuum operated cooling watervalve to the Tiptronic heat exchanger. The membrane wants to leak vacuum after a while, such that the gearbox is always cooled instead of periodically when necessary, therefore the engine temperature remains too low. Follow the water pipes, from and to the exchanger, and you will come across the valve.
  4. The bolts are pressed in, you have to burn them red hot with a welding torch, and than tap with a hammer if you do not have hydraulic press. When using a hammer you have to remove the lambda probes, they can easily fail by the vibrations of the hammer.
  5. Defective engine mounts can also cause annoying vibrations and noise, it is worth checking that too.
  6. The fluid line runs along the right-hand side in the roof covering to the rear, then to the middle, in line with the nozzle. The most rear part of the roof covering must be removed to fix the problem, the fluid line jumps off from the connector to the nozzle, usually due to excessive pressure caused by partial or complete blockage of the nozzle. Beware of possible water damage to the electronics inside the lower rear space.
  7. Usually it is the return spring that operates the rod between the inside door handle and the lock mechanism that has been broken. You will have to remove the door lining to restore it.
  8. It may be that the wiper mechanism is stiff, try manually with disassembled wiper motor.
  9. 987 no longer uses double relays for roof control, but two ordinary, one for up and one for down. The same position as i remember correctly.
  10. This is difficult to define without audio clip, but if the vibration noise is barely audible outside the car and well audible inside the car, are the engine mounts suspicious.
  11. In full agreement with "ekstroemj" prices in general are also higher as well.
  12. That's more than double in consumption, in this case the engine should run badly and smoke like an old school diesel. Are you shure there is no leak or the fuel disappeared, by circumstances, in an other vehicle? With M.S. in the background i would pay attention.
  13. It's a Boxster, the wire is located above /rear side of the left rear plastic wheel well.
  14. Is the handle retraction spring, wrapped in black fabric in the pic, not broken?
  15. Follow the wiring of the left pump, under the rear seat. She goes through the car floor, to the far left corner of the car, there is a connection point which will burn in after time and consequently provides too much resistance. If this is the case replace this section.
  16. The pressure cap (filling cap) on the expansion tank is in many cases a source of annoyance due to pressure loss, there are devices on the market to test this but a new one does not cost an arm and a leg and can fixes problems as yours.
  17. Believe me, that's the way to go for ROW cars. After disconnecting the battery, you should wait a few minutes (5 a10) to be sure. Succes.
  18. I hope there is oil in the gear box, just take a look you never know.
  19. For ROW cars, the key must be placed in the ignition switch, in the "ignition on possition", and let it stand until the battery is reconected. This will prevent the alarm from being activated.
  20. Is the handbrake indicator light on the dash lit ?If not check the microswitch under the handbrake lever.
  21. There is a chance that the electronic fan speed controller is defective, than he automatically switches to full speed. The controller is located in the airstream between the fan and the condenser inside the AC unit.
  22. The question is whether the flywheel is not loose relative to crankshaft flange, defective dual-mass flywheel, loose torque converter/broken mounting plate (starter ring) if Tiptronic.
  23. A little thought about this, the flywheel is however fixed according to the indicated values? What JFP in PA quotes is definitely true.
  24. This is just an adaptor, the leak probably comes from the fastening system between the vacuum tube and the adaptor.
