Oil Changer for any car with a dipstick

For cars that have an oil dipstick, I have been thinking about designing an oil changer pump that will be like nothing else on the planet and will have the following features:

1.      Of course you will not have to jack up the car as the oil will be extracted through dipstick hole.

2.      Unlike other extractors on the market , this unit will not require

a.      An air compressor to operate

b.      Manual pumping to create suction

c.      The user to dump the oil, it is pumped directly into the recycle container

3.      This unit is very small and easy to handle

4.      Made in USA of machined aluminum NOT plastic

5.      Can extract warm oil in 2-5 minutes depending on vehicle capacity

6.      Does not require a battery, operates on your car’s 12 volt battery

7.      Costs less than some people pay for an oil change

8.      Anyone can easily use it from teens to non-mechanical persons to the elderly

9.      Allows you to change your oil without jacking up your car in as little as 5 minutes.

10.   Looks Awesome I billet aluminum or anodized blue

Would you be interested in such a device? If enough people are interested I will engineer one like nothing currently in existence.  Let me know.

You would need to get in line, others have been there before you.  Mityvac, amongst others, have promoted this concept for years.  Unfortunately, there is are a couple of major downsides:  Going in through the dipstick tube, you rarely get all the old, contaminated oil out.  Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, there are a lot of sharp edged things down there that can catch flexible tubes inserted down the dipstick tube.  We have had more than one car flat bedded to the shop after an oil extraction unit line got stuck and could not be removed, requiring us to run up some expensive shop time getting it out.


If you cannot get under the car and change the oil, or are uninclined to do so, take it to a shop and let them change the oil as the car was designed to do.  In the long run, you will save yourself headaches and expense. :wink:

I used a plastic vacuum canister to remove two gallons of SAE 30 annually for 25 years on the Chrysler flat-head 6 in my cruiser before I retired her.  It worked pretty well in a boat with a primitive engine, but I wouldn't know about something like a Porsche V8.  What's wrong with twisting the nut?

I can see the attraction of this for engines where access to the drain plug is not easy.  Sometimes the under trays are a bit awkward if you haven't got  a ramp to gain access.  However, on my 911 the access is good.  I like to see the old oil flowing out and be able to inspect the magnetic plug. I sometimes put a half litre of new oil in on an empty plug to see clean oil flowing out.

      2002 C2 manual:
      Problem: when parked outside in freezing temperatures, oil leaks from the lower oil pump connector, item 7 in diagram below. When parked in a warm environment, it remains dry.
      Anyone had that problem? Should I replace the gasket #8?

      Recently I had been noticing issues with my cooling system the coolant temp guage would go past the 0 on 180 and I wouldn’t hear fans or anything. (Already tested fans and resistors and relays).   The temperature Will continue to creep up if I sit still, with no signs of fans, AC OFF.

      I replaced the coolant temp sensor. Problem fixed!! Then same issue again it seems after a week of driving.  

      Now i currently have ordered another temp sensor just Incase I maybe did something to cause the other new one too fail, I’ll be changing it again today.

      However I was doing the climate control hack to check my actual temperatures today while doing a short troubleshooting drive. And I noticed my oil temperature said 0, which is physically impossible 🙄

      Is it possible the oil temp guage is throwing off the coolant sensor?    Is it even possible for the oil temp sensor too go bad but not the oil level sensor? (They are a 2 in 1 sensor)

      Hi all, just purchased a 1961 notchback 1600s, I have never drove a Porsche until the day I purchased this car, got the bug now and i love Porsches more than ever now, the car is in very good shape, but i want to change all the fluids, grease all the parts, and do all the maintenance there is, the oil was so dark when I checked the level and it was all the way to max line of the stick, i would appreciate if you guys can tell me where to buy all the maintenance parts, and where can I buy the shop manual, and what are the things I should do, there is a small leak on the floor from engine very small, but a palm size of oil from transmission on the ground,  thanks guys cheers😁

      I have a 2007 C2S manual with about 132K on the odometer.  A low oil pressure light has started to show up at idle after the car is warmed up.  It seems as if the light is gradually coming on more frequently.  The pressure gage on the dash reads around 0.5 bar when the light comes on.  When the car is cold the starting pressure is around five bar and is about 3 bar at 3000rpm.  As it warms up the pressure drops to about 2 bar at 3000rpm.  I always run 0-40W Mobil 1 and change the oil every 5K miles.  With the engine off and turning the key one click the pressure gage rises to about 0.1-0.2 bar.
      Can anyone help me diagnose this issue?  Would be a sensor or something mechanical?

      Had a small accident topping up my oil. I think I put about 1/2 liter to much oil in my car. Is this a problem? More so I do want to remove it and I was hoping to use an oil evacuation pump and put the suction line down the oil filter tube. Has anyone here done this? I know I cant go down the oil filler tube. I can but don't want to drain it through the drain plug unless absolutely my only choice.
